Yard Waste Dumpster Rental across Cape Cod, from the Canal to Provincetown
Outdoor projects on the Cape make debris in bursts. A storm brings down branches and limbs; a landscape renovation pulls out shrubs, plant material, sod and mulch all at once; tree trimming or removal leaves branches, limbs and cut trunks; seasonal cleanups fill bag after bag. A yard waste container on the driveway takes all of it, with no hauling, no multiple trips to the transfer station and no heavy lifting.
Two things shape the job. Clean green waste is worth keeping clean: leaves and yard waste are banned from disposal in Massachusetts (310 CMR 19.017), so a load of branches, brush and clippings goes to a licensed green waste recycling and composting facility, and construction debris or household trash mixed in spoils that. And yard waste is bulky and light until it is not: soil, sod and wet leaves are heavy. We size for the mix, and if your project has both organic and non-organic debris we can provide separate containers to keep the materials sorted.

Storm cleanup, tree work and landscape renovations
Storm cleanup is the big one. Heavy wind can leave fallen branches and damaged landscaping across a yard in an afternoon, and a 20 yard on the driveway takes the whole pile in one go — major yard overhauls, tree removals and storm cleanup are what it is for.
Landscape and tree jobs are the planned version: a lawn and landscape renovation, tree trimming or removal, a garden redesign, outdoor renovation prep, property maintenance for rentals or HOAs, community landscape maintenance. Landscapers and property managers handling commercial landscaping or large property maintenance use a 30. Brush and cut trunks are light for their bulk; cut limbs and trunks to fit so they load flat and stay level with or below the top edge.
Soil, sod and the weight line
Branches, brush and hedge trimmings are light. Soil, sod and wet leaves are not. A 20 of brush is nowhere near its weight allowance; a 20 heaped with soil can be well over it. Tell us the mix and we will size it — usually a 15 or 20 for the green waste and, if there is a lot of soil, a smaller box alongside, within the weight limit. Keep the load clean: yard waste kept separate from construction debris and household trash goes to the right green waste facility, and organic material such as leaves, branches, grass and clean wood is processed into compost or soil products whenever possible.

Yard waste — the local specifics
Every town runs its own drop-off, and none of them is built for a whole yard at once. Brewster's Recycling Center is for Brewster residents and Brewster-generated waste; Chatham's transfer station on Sam Ryder Road is closed Wednesdays; Wellfleet's needs a Wellfleet sticker and a gate inspection; and Sandwich's does not take anything collected by a paid contractor, so your landscaper's load cannot go there. A container is for the pile that is bigger, heavier or sooner than any of that. Snow season matters too: Yarmouth asks residents to keep vehicles, boats and other items off the roadway and road edge, so we put your container on the driveway, not the street. And because Massachusetts bans leaves and yard waste from disposal (310 CMR 19.017), the load has to stay clean to go where green waste goes. The seasonal cleanup guide covers end-of-summer and fall yard work, and the what can and cannot go in guide explains what has to stay out of a green load.
Answers
Yard Waste Dumpster Rental — your questions answered
Do I need to bag or bundle the brush?
No. Load it as it comes. Cut long limbs and trunks to fit, keep everything level with or below the top edge, and keep household trash, construction debris and plastic out of it.
Can I put dirt in a yard waste dumpster?
Yes — soil, mulch and sod are accepted. Soil is heavy, so it goes in a smaller box or its own load within the weight limit. Tell us it is part of the job when you book and we plan the loads.
Can I put a whole tree in?
Cut to fit, yes — tree branches, limbs and cut trunks are fine. Big pieces are heavy, so tell us about them and we help you stay within the weight limit.
How fast after a storm can you deliver?
Same-day or next-day delivery is often available, depending on scheduling — call before noon for the best chance. If the week after a storm is busy, we tell you honestly when to expect the container.
Do you recycle green waste?
Yes. Yard waste we collect goes to licensed green waste recycling and composting facilities serving Cape Cod, where leaves, branches, grass and clean wood are processed into compost or soil products whenever possible. That only works if the load is clean, which is why household trash and construction debris stay out.
