Service area
Fifteen towns and one yard in East Falmouth. Here is every town and village we cover, grouped by area, each with its own page on access, local character and what the town's own rules say about containers in the street and who may haul.
We run roll-off containers out of 19 Tradesman Cir in East Falmouth — in the Town of Falmouth, on a private road off Thomas B. Landers Road, next to the Town's Waste Management Facility — to every town and village below. Distance is the first thing that changes. Approximate road miles from the yard: central Falmouth about 6, Mashpee about 7, Cotuit about 10, Bourne about 11, Osterville about 14, Barnstable about 15, Sandwich and Centerville about 16, Hyannis about 19, Yarmouth about 23, Dennis about 26, Harwich about 33, Brewster about 35, Chatham about 39, Orleans about 41, Eastham about 45, Wellfleet about 52, Truro about 59 and Provincetown about 66. Same-day or next-day is available when availability allows, and route timing decides the rest. Villages and neighborhoods without their own page are inside our run too.
The second thing that changes is the rules. Massachusetts requires a Board of Health permit to transport refuse through a town's streets (M.G.L. c.111 §31A), so every Cape town licenses haulers its own way, and the state fire code wants a fire department permit for any container over 6 cubic yards left past one business day (527 CMR 1.00, Table 1.12.8.5) — in Barnstable from the fire district covering the job. On the street, Bourne needs Select Board approval for any dumpster on a public way (Traffic Rules § 4.5), Mashpee needs the DPW Director's written permission (Bylaw § 150-2), Harwich needs a written licence to obstruct any way except a driveway (§ 255-1), Chatham bars obstructions that block parking or pedestrians (§ 208-16C), and Wellfleet needs written Selectboard permission (§§ 204-2, 204-3); in Falmouth and Barnstable we found no Town street permit for a container. Mashpee also licenses dumpster contractors and wants empty dumpsters back in the contractor's yard between rentals. In Truro — a Building Commissioner permit for rubbish on a town way (§ 1-9-12) — and in Provincetown — a pest control contract for the whole rental and a police detail to block a street — we check the Town's rules before booking. On the MassDOT-owned stretches of Routes 6, 6A, 28, 28A, 130, 134, 137 and 151, MassDOT has no container permit. We are licensed & insured. Each town page quotes the section and gives the office to call. We would rather say it here than find out on delivery day.
The service area
The run splits three ways: Falmouth and the Upper Cape — Falmouth, Mashpee, Bourne and Sandwich; Barnstable and the Mid Cape — Barnstable with Hyannis, Osterville, Centerville and Cotuit, then Yarmouth and Dennis; and the Lower and Outer Cape — Harwich, Brewster, Chatham, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown.
Falmouth, where the yard is, plus Mashpee, Bourne and Sandwich — roughly 6 to 16 road miles out (approx.). Falmouth limits waste collection to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (§ 191-10) and its Fire Department permits containers of 6 cubic yards or more that stay overnight; Mashpee's Board of Health licenses every dumpster contractor and wants the company name and phone on each box; Bourne needs Select Board approval for a dumpster on a public way (Traffic Rules § 4.5). Same-day or next-day when availability allows.
The Town of Barnstable and its villages — Hyannis, Osterville, Centerville and Cotuit — plus Yarmouth and Dennis, roughly 10 to 26 road miles from the yard (approx.). Barnstable's Board of Health permits haulers (§ 202-1), and the fire-code permit comes from the fire district covering the village: Hyannis, COMM or Cotuit. North of Route 6 in Yarmouth and Dennis, the Old King's Highway district reviews demolition. Same-day or next-day when availability allows.
Harwich, Brewster, Chatham, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown — roughly 33 to 66 road miles from the yard (approx.). Harwich licenses street obstructions, driveways excepted (§ 255-1), and Chatham bars them from the road layout (§ 208-16C); Wellfleet's Fire Department issues its own dumpster permits; Truro and Provincetown have the most detailed dumpster rules on the Cape, so we check the Town's rules before booking there. Same-day or next-day when availability allows.

Many of them, depending on where the trucks are and when you call — before noon gives you the best chance. The closest runs from the yard are central Falmouth, about 6 road miles, Mashpee, about 7, and Cotuit, about 10; the furthest are Wellfleet, about 52, Truro, about 59, and Provincetown, about 66.
Yes, call — the villages and neighborhoods inside each town, such as Woods Hole, Marstons Mills or South Yarmouth, are inside our run; they just do not have their own pages. Tell us the address and we will tell you which rules apply. The rules follow the town the property is in, not the mailing address.
Because Massachusetts leaves much of it to each town and each fire department. Every Cape town licenses haulers through its Board of Health, and Mashpee also licenses dumpster contractors and marks their containers; the state fire code wants a fire department permit for any container over 6 cubic yards that stays overnight. We state what each town says, and in Truro and Provincetown we check the Town's rules before booking.
The flat rate depends partly on the placement requirements and the delivery location, so the furthest towns can cost a little more — we say so up front.
To licensed disposal and recycling facilities serving Cape Cod, with metal, concrete, clean wood, cardboard and yard waste separated for recycling whenever possible and mixed construction loads sent to a handling facility that meets MassDEP's minimum performance standard. The town transfer stations are mostly for their own residents and small loads, so we ask what is going in before we quote.
