Roll-off dumpster rental in Mashpee

Approx. 7 road miles from the yard, around 13 minutes.

Mashpee is approx. 7 road miles east of the yard, around 13 minutes — one of our shortest runs. Same-day or next-day when availability allows; call earlier in the day and we can often deliver within hours. Mashpee is a town of 15,060 at the 2020 Census, in Barnstable County, taking in New Seabury and Mashpee Neck.

Mashpee has the most detailed dumpster rules on the Upper Cape. Its Board of Health Refuse Regulation (revised 3 October 2023) defines a contractor as anyone who supplies, maintains or services dumpsters for pay, counts wasted construction material as rubbish, and requires every contractor to hold a Board licence. The Transfer Station on Asher's Path doesn't take demolition or building materials — lumber, ceiling tiles, windows, flooring and the like — so remodels and tear-outs go out in a roll-off.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Mashpee

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • Board of Health licence — every dumpster contractor must be licensed by the Board, with a sticker on each vehicle showing its registration number, and vehicles are inspected before permitting (Refuse Regulation §§ 4A, 4C, 4E).
  • Name on every box — each dumpster must be conspicuously marked with the contractor's name and telephone number (§ 4F).
  • No staging — when not in use, dumpsters stay on the contractor's property until they move to the next rented location (§ 4H).
  • Collection hours — in residentially zoned areas, collection runs between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. (§ 4G).
  • Construction hours — construction and demolition equipment may run 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on any other day (Town Code § 120-1C, approved by the Attorney General 13 February 2026).
  • Transfer Station — 380 Asher's Path; no demolition or building materials. The Town's FAQ sends them to the Bourne facility on Route 28, for a fee.

What comes out of Mashpee properties

Garage clean-outs and small jobs in 10s (about 3 pickup loads), flooring and medium remodels in 15s (4 to 5), roofing jobs and renovations in 20s (about 6), large clean-outs and construction in 30s (about 9), and demolition in 40s (about 12). Everything the Transfer Station turns away — lumber, windows, flooring, ceiling tiles — is what a roll-off is for. Plan the loading inside the Town's equipment hours; Mashpee sends empty containers back to the contractor's yard between rentals (§ 4H), so book the next one when you need it.

What goes in: household junk and furniture, construction debris such as wood, drywall, flooring and siding, and roofing shingles — plus concrete, brick or asphalt in approved limited quantities, talked through before delivery so the load stays inside weight limits. Brush, branches and yard waste go in a yard-waste container of their own. What doesn't go in: paints, solvents and automotive fluids, batteries and electronics, propane tanks and fuel containers, tires, medical waste, asbestos and hazardous chemicals — that's our own list. Massachusetts adds its own: MassDEP's waste bans (310 CMR 19.017) cover asphalt pavement, brick and concrete, metal, wood (from landfills), clean drywall, mattresses and textiles (since 1 November 2022), whole tires, large appliances, TV and monitor picture tubes, lead-acid batteries, leaves and yard waste, and recyclable paper, cardboard and containers, so mixed construction loads go to a C&D handling facility that meets MassDEP's minimum performance standard. Tell us before you load a mattress or an appliance. The state fire code also keeps oily rags and hot coals, cinders and hot scrap metal out of containers (527 CMR 1.00, 19.3.1). Our what can and can't go in a dumpster in Massachusetts guide covers the rest. Leftover oil-based paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals and automotive fluids go to Barnstable County's household hazardous waste collections, which run from April through October (capecod.gov); off-season, the County points residents to MassDEP's list of permanent facilities.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Mashpee

Who may haul: In Massachusetts no one may haul refuse through a town's streets without a permit from that town's Board of Health (M.G.L. c.111 § 31A), and the permits run to the end of the calendar year. Mashpee's Board of Health Refuse Regulation goes further: “CONTRACTOR means any person who, for compensation, supplies, maintains or services one or more dumpsters, or removes, transports or disposes of the contents thereof.” Every contractor must be licensed by the Board, with a sticker on each vehicle (§ 4A), no one may do business as a contractor without a Refuse Haulers licence (§ 4C), and vehicles are inspected before permitting (§ 4E). Fines run $500, then $1,000, then $5,000 (§ 5A). We're licensed and insured.

Marking and staging: “Each dumpster owned, controlled or serviced by a contractor shall be conspicuously marked with the name and telephone number of the contractor” (§ 4F), and “When not in use, all dumpsters must remain within the contractor's property until it relocates to its new contracted/rented location” (§ 4H) — so no empty box waits on your street.

In the street: no material, construction or structure may be placed on a Town highway without the written permission of the Director of Public Works (General Bylaws § 150-2), who may require a bond of $1,000 to $50,000, with fines up to $200 a day (§ 150-3). Dumpsters aren't named, but a container in a Town road is placed on it. Driveway first. You don't need to be home as long as the area is accessible and we know where the container goes. Our smaller containers fit easily in most driveways, and we place boards under the container to help prevent damage to the driveway.

Hours: collection in residentially zoned areas runs 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Refuse Regulation § 4G), and construction and demolition equipment may run 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on any other day, with a $50-a-day fine (Town Code § 120-1C).

Fire-code permit: Massachusetts' fire code requires a permit from the head of the local fire department for a rubbish container over 6 cubic yards (527 CMR 1.00, Table 1.12.8.5); a container delivered and removed in the same business day needs none (1.12.8.5.1), and every container must be marked with the name and phone number of the company that can be reached in an emergency (1.12.8.5.2).

State highways: the Town's DPW says Route 28 in Mashpee is plowed and maintained by the state. Nothing may be placed on a MassDOT state highway without MassDOT's written permit (M.G.L. c.81 § 21), and MassDOT has no dumpster or container permit type — so beside one the container goes on private property, never in the highway layout. Not every stretch of a numbered route is state-owned, so we check the exact address.

Covered loads: Massachusetts requires loads of rubbish and debris to be fully and adequately covered on the road (M.G.L. c.85 § 36). Keep debris level with or below the top edge — an overfilled container can't be transported.

Remodel or tear-down: Massachusetts requires an asbestos survey before demolition or renovation work (310 CMR 7.15), and asbestos removal needs a MassDEP notice filed ten working days before work starts by the licensed abatement contractor. MassDEP's construction and demolition notice (AQ 06) does not apply to residential buildings with fewer than 20 units. Asbestos never goes in our containers — tell us if the survey finds any.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Mashpee

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. Step 1: Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask the address and the town — in Barnstable, the village — what you are clearing, whether a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard or a job site, what is going in, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.

  2. Step 2: We size it and quote it flat

We recommend the right size, so you do not pay for space you will not use or run out of room, and you get a clear, flat-rate price that covers delivery, pickup, the standard rental period and disposal within the included weight. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. Step 3: Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on a flat, solid surface rather than the lawn, with protective boards on request. Often same-day or next-day, when availability allows. You do not need to be home if the spot is marked and clear.

  4. Step 4: Load it at your pace

Keep it level with or below the top edge and keep the problem items out — paint, solvents and automotive fluids, fuel and propane tanks, batteries and electronics, tires, medical waste, asbestos and hazardous chemicals, plus what Massachusetts bans from disposal, such as mattresses, appliances and recyclable cardboard. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.

  5. Step 5: We pick it up and handle the disposal

Call or text when it is full or the job is done and we schedule a prompt pickup, often within 24 hours. The load is covered for the road and goes to licensed disposal and recycling facilities, with metal, concrete, clean wood, cardboard and yard waste recycled whenever possible.
