Roll-off dumpster rental in Provincetown
Approx. 66 road miles from the yard, around 106 minutes.
Provincetown is approx. 66 road miles northeast of the yard, around 106 minutes — our longest run, at the tip of the Cape. Same-day or next-day when availability allows, once the Town's rules for the job are checked. It is a town of 3,664 at the 2020 Census.
Provincetown has the most specific dumpster rule we found on the Cape, so we check the Town's rules before booking. Since January 2026, its Board of Health nuisance regulation says everyone using a dumpster or disposal container — property owners, contractors, businesses — must contract with an Integrated Pest Management professional for the entire time the container is used, and any demolition project needs an IPM contract with a pest control company. The streets are closely managed too: construction materials on a public way need the Commissioner of Public Safety's permission, and blocking a way even partly needs police personnel the requester pays for.

Local knowledge
Getting our bearings in Provincetown
Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.
- Pest-control contract — anyone using a dumpster or disposal container contracts with an Integrated Pest Management professional for the whole time it's in use (Board of Health Nuisance Regulations, Section 6).
- Open or overflowing — a dumpster left open or overflowing is a nuisance, with fines up to $1,000.
- Public Safety permission — construction equipment or building materials on a public way or sidewalk need the Commissioner of Public Safety's express permission (General By-Laws § 11-6-3-2).
- Commercial Street deliveries — from 1 April to 31 October, deliveries on Commercial Street between Pearl and Central Streets are allowed only until noon (§ 13-3-8).
- Construction hours — exterior repairs and construction run from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. (§ 13-2-21).
- No construction debris at the transfer station — 90 Race Point Road; wood is taken only if it isn't from construction.
What comes out of Provincetown properties
Condo and kitchen remodels in 10s and 15s, roofing jobs in 15s and 20s, renovations and whole-house clean-outs in 20s, and demolition or new construction in 30s and 40s where the lot and the street allow. On tight lots a 10 or a 15 is often the only size that fits off the street. Book the pest-control contract before the container arrives — the Board of Health wants it in place for the whole rental.
What goes in: household junk and furniture, construction debris such as wood, drywall, flooring and siding, and roofing shingles — plus concrete, brick or asphalt in approved limited quantities, talked through before delivery so the load stays inside weight limits. Brush, branches and yard waste go in a yard-waste container of their own. What doesn't go in: paints, solvents and automotive fluids, batteries and electronics, propane tanks and fuel containers, tires, medical waste, asbestos and hazardous chemicals — that's our own list. Massachusetts adds its own: MassDEP's waste bans (310 CMR 19.017) cover asphalt pavement, brick and concrete, metal, wood (from landfills), clean drywall, mattresses and textiles (since 1 November 2022), whole tires, large appliances, TV and monitor picture tubes, lead-acid batteries, leaves and yard waste, and recyclable paper, cardboard and containers, so mixed construction loads go to a C&D handling facility that meets MassDEP's minimum performance standard. Tell us before you load a mattress or an appliance. The state fire code also keeps oily rags and hot coals, cinders and hot scrap metal out of containers (527 CMR 1.00, 19.3.1). Our what can and can't go in a dumpster in Massachusetts guide covers the rest. Leftover oil-based paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals and automotive fluids go to Barnstable County's household hazardous waste collections, which run from April through October (capecod.gov); off-season, the County points residents to MassDEP's list of permanent facilities.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Provincetown
Pest control — read this first: “To mitigate the nuisance conditions posed by dumpsters or disposal containers, all property owners, contractors, businesses, or other entities utilizing a dumpster or disposal container shall contract with an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) professional for the entirety of the time that the dumpster or disposal container is used” (Board of Health Nuisance Regulations, Section 6; effective 8 January 2026, corrections 30 April 2026), and “any project proposing demolition of the structure requires an IPM contract with a pest control company.” The regulation names roll-offs, and fines run up to $1,000. We check the Town's rules before booking a container in Provincetown.
Who may haul: In Massachusetts no one may haul refuse through a town's streets without a permit from that town's Board of Health (M.G.L. c.111 § 31A), and the permits run to the end of the calendar year. Provincetown's Board of Health says “All persons collecting solid waste in the Town of Provincetown shall obtain a permit from the Board of Health prior to commencing with collection” (§ 1021), renewable each 1 January, and “The legal disposal of any special waste, including without limitation … demolition debris … shall be the responsibility of the property owner or occupant” (§ 1033). The Town's Debris Disposal Affidavit, filed with building permits for new construction, substantial remodeling, condominium conversion and demolition, names the disposal company and site. We're licensed and insured.
In the street: “No person shall erect any staging for building, deposit construction equipment or building materials, or cause anything related to construction to be erected or built on or over a public way or sidewalk without express permission from the Commissioner of Public Safety or his delegate” (General By-Laws § 11-6-3-2), and blocking a town or public way wholly or in part for construction needs police personnel assigned first, at the requester's cost (§ 11-6-3-1). The Town lists Street Occupancy and Work in Public Way permits online; their terms weren't readable. You don't need to be home as long as the area is accessible and we know where the container goes. Our smaller containers fit easily in most driveways, and we place boards under the container to help prevent damage to the driveway.
Commercial Street and hours: “From April first through October thirty-first, all deliveries on Commercial Street, between Pearl and Central Streets, will only be allowed until 12:00 p.m.” (§ 13-3-8), and exterior repairs and construction run from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. (§ 13-2-21). We plan drops and swaps inside both.
Snow routes: in plowable snow the Town activates an Emergency Snow Removal Parking Ban on its Emergency Snow Routes, including Commercial, Conant, Pearl, Standish and Nickerson Streets, and it stays in effect until cancelled — nothing sits on a snow route during a ban.
Fire-code permit: Massachusetts' fire code requires a permit from the head of the local fire department for a rubbish container over 6 cubic yards (527 CMR 1.00, Table 1.12.8.5); a container delivered and removed in the same business day needs none (1.12.8.5.1), and every container must be marked with the name and phone number of the company that can be reached in an emergency (1.12.8.5.2).
Cape Cod National Seashore: the Seashore's compendium lists the use of commercial vehicles on park area roads as an activity that needs a permit, which the superintendent issues to reach private land in or next to the park when there's no other access (36 CFR 5.6(c)). If the only way to your lot is a park road, tell us when you book.
Covered loads: Massachusetts requires loads of rubbish and debris to be fully and adequately covered on the road (M.G.L. c.85 § 36). Keep debris level with or below the top edge — an overfilled container can't be transported.
Remodel or tear-down: Massachusetts requires an asbestos survey before demolition or renovation work (310 CMR 7.15), and asbestos removal needs a MassDEP notice filed ten working days before work starts by the licensed abatement contractor. MassDEP's construction and demolition notice (AQ 06) does not apply to residential buildings with fewer than 20 units. Asbestos never goes in our containers — tell us if the survey finds any.

How it works
Booking a dumpster in Provincetown
Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.
Step 1: Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask the address and the town — in Barnstable, the village — what you are clearing, whether a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard or a job site, what is going in, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.
Step 2: We size it and quote it flat
We recommend the right size, so you do not pay for space you will not use or run out of room, and you get a clear, flat-rate price that covers delivery, pickup, the standard rental period and disposal within the included weight. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.
Step 3: Delivered where you want it
The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on a flat, solid surface rather than the lawn, with protective boards on request. Often same-day or next-day, when availability allows. You do not need to be home if the spot is marked and clear.
Step 4: Load it at your pace
Keep it level with or below the top edge and keep the problem items out — paint, solvents and automotive fluids, fuel and propane tanks, batteries and electronics, tires, medical waste, asbestos and hazardous chemicals, plus what Massachusetts bans from disposal, such as mattresses, appliances and recyclable cardboard. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.
Step 5: We pick it up and handle the disposal
Call or text when it is full or the job is done and we schedule a prompt pickup, often within 24 hours. The load is covered for the road and goes to licensed disposal and recycling facilities, with metal, concrete, clean wood, cardboard and yard waste recycled whenever possible.

Local answers
Dumpster rental in Provincetown — common questions
Can I get a roll-off in Provincetown?
Yes — we check the Town's rules before booking a container in Provincetown, because the Board of Health's pest-control rule and the Town's street rules both apply. Call (508) 388-1861 with the address and the job.
Do I need pest control for a dumpster in Provincetown?
Yes. Since January 2026 the Board of Health requires anyone using a dumpster or disposal container to contract with an Integrated Pest Management professional for the whole time it is used, and demolition projects need one too.
Can a dumpster go on a Provincetown street?
Construction materials on a public way or sidewalk need the Commissioner of Public Safety's permission (Sec. 11-6-3-2), and blocking a street even partly needs a police detail paid for by the requester (Sec. 11-6-3-1).
When can you deliver on Commercial Street?
From April 1 to October 31, deliveries on Commercial Street between Pearl and Central Streets are allowed only until noon (Sec. 13-3-8). We plan the drop around it.
