Junk Removal across Cape Cod, from the Canal to Provincetown

Junk removal is the other half of what we do. Instead of dropping a container and coming back in a week, a crew comes out, does all the lifting, loading and cleanup, and leaves the area clean and clutter-free. It suits the jobs where the problem is labor rather than volume: a single appliance or a full property cleanout, rental turnovers, foreclosures, office cleanouts, furniture and appliance removal, bulk items. We also offer light demolition and debris removal for small sheds, decks and fences — no dumpster rental required.

It matters here because Massachusetts keeps many of those items out of the trash. Mattresses and box springs, textiles, white goods — large appliances — and picture-tube TVs and monitors are all banned from disposal (310 CMR 19.017), so they cannot ride in a roll-off. The crew takes appliances for recycling and electronics through approved centers, and can take mattresses once the destination and any cost are confirmed at booking. The rule of thumb on the phone: if it is a few items or a houseful you want gone in one visit, call the crew; if it is a renovation, a yard or a multi-day cleanout you will load at your own pace, a dumpster is usually the better deal. We do both.

  • Same-day or next-day service often available
  • Metals, appliances, cardboard, yard waste and clean wood recycled whenever possible
  • Bundled pricing when you combine junk removal with a dumpster rental

Cleanouts, turnovers and the one-off pile

Home cleanouts are the biggest category: estate cleanouts, move-in and move-out junk removal, garage and attic cleanouts, foreclosure or eviction cleanups, and appliance or furniture removal — for homeowners, renters, landlords and seasonal property owners. Businesses are next: offices, retail stores, restaurants, hospitality businesses, warehouses, storage facilities, property managers and HOAs, with old fixtures, displays, chairs, desks and filing cabinets. Then the one-off pile: a couch, a table, a refrigerator, a washer or dryer, a stove, a television, branches after a storm.

Some things we cannot take: hazardous materials such as paint, solvents, fuel, propane tanks, chemicals, asbestos and medical waste. Leftover oil-based paint, solvents and pool chemicals belong at a household hazardous waste collection, which Barnstable County runs with the towns — ask your town for the next date. For businesses, after-hours pickups can be arranged when available, so you can stay open while the crew works.

Junk removal or a dumpster — which is better?

A rough rule: if the job is furniture, appliances or a cleanout you want handled hands-off, call the crew — the quote is based on the volume of junk, the type of material and accessibility, such as curbside or interior removal, and it is one clear price including labor, hauling and disposal. If it is a remodel, a yard, a job site or a multi-day cleanout, a roll-off on the driveway is usually better value, because you load it at your own pace and the dumpster is priced flat by size. For larger projects we offer bundled pricing when you combine junk removal with a dumpster rental. We will say which on the phone; we do both.

Junk removal — the local specifics

Most public options stop short of a real cleanout. Falmouth residents with a sticker can take pickup-truck and trailer loads of construction debris to the Town's Waste Management Facility; the Barnstable Transfer Station takes construction debris only in vehicles up to 5 cubic yards; Sandwich's transfer station does not take demolition material or anything collected by a paid contractor; Brewster's Recycling Center is for Brewster residents and Brewster-generated waste, with lumber cut to 4 feet; Chatham's transfer station takes construction debris only from Chatham sites, with paperwork; and Wellfleet's takes it only with a Wellfleet sticker, after a gate inspection. Falmouth also requires everyone to recycle what is on MassDEP's waste ban list. Junk removal is for the pile that cannot wait for a trip to the transfer station, or does not qualify for one. Items that can be reused or repurposed are diverted whenever possible, and metals and appliances, electronics through approved centers, cardboard and plastics, yard waste and clean wood go to recycling.

Answers

Junk Removal — your questions answered

How is junk removal priced?

Your quote is based on the volume of junk, the type of material and accessibility, such as curbside or interior removal. You receive one clear price that includes labor, hauling and disposal, and the estimate is free with no obligation. Describe the pile, or email a photo, and we will give you a number.

Do I need to be there?

For the first visit, usually — someone needs to point at what goes and what stays. The crew gives you a heads-up before arrival.

Can you take appliances?

Yes — refrigerators, washers, dryers and stoves. Massachusetts bans large appliances from disposal, so they go for recycling, which is why the crew takes them rather than a dumpster. Tell us what the appliance is when you book.

Can you take a mattress or a couch?

A couch, yes — sofas, tables, desks and office chairs are some of the most common things we haul. Mattresses and box springs are banned from disposal in Massachusetts, so we confirm where a mattress will go, and any cost, when you book.

How fast can a crew come?

Same-day or next-day is often available across Cape Cod, depending on scheduling. Call early in the day and we will do everything possible to schedule your pickup the same day.
