Roll-off dumpster rental in Brewster
Approx. 35 road miles from the yard, around 60 minutes.
Brewster is approx. 35 road miles east-northeast of the yard, around 60 minutes. Same-day or next-day when availability allows; call earlier in the day and we can often deliver within hours. It is a town of 10,318 at the 2020 Census, in Barnstable County; its Stony Brook area is on the National Register as the Stony Brook/Factory Village Historic Village.
Brewster's Board of Health Recycling Center Regulation covers everyone collecting, storing or transporting solid waste in town: a commercial refuse collection company needs a Board permit renewed yearly (§ VII.A), and waste travels in bags, covered containers or covered vehicles (§ VII.D). The Recycling Center at 201 Run Hill Road takes only Brewster-generated waste, with lumber and pipe cut to 4 feet (§§ I, VII.G), and debris from building a house or an addition, developing a lot, or remodeling or demolishing a commercial property is barred from the Town's pay-as-you-throw bin (§ VI.K). That's roll-off work.

Local knowledge

What comes out of Brewster properties
Estate clean-outs in 20s and 30s, kitchen remodels in 10s or 15s, roofing jobs in 15s and 20s, whole-house clean-outs in 20s, and new homes, additions and demolition in 30s and 40s. New-build and addition debris is exactly what § VI.K keeps out of the Town bin, so builders here need a container from the start. Lumber doesn't have to be cut to 4 feet for us — just keep it level with or below the top edge.
What goes in: household junk and furniture, construction debris such as wood, drywall, flooring and siding, and roofing shingles — plus concrete, brick or asphalt in approved limited quantities, talked through before delivery so the load stays inside weight limits. Brush, branches and yard waste go in a yard-waste container of their own. What doesn't go in: paints, solvents and automotive fluids, batteries and electronics, propane tanks and fuel containers, tires, medical waste, asbestos and hazardous chemicals — that's our own list. Massachusetts adds its own: MassDEP's waste bans (310 CMR 19.017) cover asphalt pavement, brick and concrete, metal, wood (from landfills), clean drywall, mattresses and textiles (since 1 November 2022), whole tires, large appliances, TV and monitor picture tubes, lead-acid batteries, leaves and yard waste, and recyclable paper, cardboard and containers, so mixed construction loads go to a C&D handling facility that meets MassDEP's minimum performance standard. Tell us before you load a mattress or an appliance. The state fire code also keeps oily rags and hot coals, cinders and hot scrap metal out of containers (527 CMR 1.00, 19.3.1). Our what can and can't go in a dumpster in Massachusetts guide covers the rest. Leftover oil-based paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals and automotive fluids go to Barnstable County's household hazardous waste collections, which run from April through October (capecod.gov); off-season, the County points residents to MassDEP's list of permanent facilities.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Brewster
Who may haul: In Massachusetts no one may haul refuse through a town's streets without a permit from that town's Board of Health (M.G.L. c.111 § 31A), and the permits run to the end of the calendar year. Brewster's Recycling Center Regulation applies to everyone collecting, storing or transporting solid waste in the Town: no one may run a commercial refuse collection company in Brewster without a Board of Health permit, renewed yearly (§ VII.A), applied for through the Town's online garbage removal application. We're licensed and insured.
In the street: we found no Brewster street-container rule. The Streets and Sidewalks chapter (Ch. 157) covers street names, driveways, layouts, scenic roads and sight lines, and the Select Board's regulations are on file with the Town Clerk rather than online — ask there before anything goes in a street. Driveway first. You don't need to be home as long as the area is accessible and we know where the container goes. Our smaller containers fit easily in most driveways, and we place boards under the container to help prevent damage to the driveway.
Historic district: Brewster's Old King's Highway committee reviews applications for new construction and demolition north of Route 6. We found no rule naming temporary containers.
Fire-code permit: Massachusetts' fire code requires a permit from the head of the local fire department for a rubbish container over 6 cubic yards (527 CMR 1.00, Table 1.12.8.5); a container delivered and removed in the same business day needs none (1.12.8.5.1), and every container must be marked with the name and phone number of the company that can be reached in an emergency (1.12.8.5.2).
State highways: Nothing may be placed on a MassDOT state highway without MassDOT's written permit (M.G.L. c.81 § 21), and MassDOT has no dumpster or container permit type — so beside one the container goes on private property, never in the highway layout. Not every stretch of a numbered route is state-owned, so we check the exact address.
Covered loads: Brewster's regulation wants all waste containerized in transport — in bags, covered containers or covered vehicles (§ VII.D). Massachusetts requires loads of rubbish and debris to be fully and adequately covered on the road (M.G.L. c.85 § 36). Keep debris level with or below the top edge — an overfilled container can't be transported.
Remodel or tear-down: Massachusetts requires an asbestos survey before demolition or renovation work (310 CMR 7.15), and asbestos removal needs a MassDEP notice filed ten working days before work starts by the licensed abatement contractor. MassDEP's construction and demolition notice (AQ 06) does not apply to residential buildings with fewer than 20 units. Asbestos never goes in our containers — tell us if the survey finds any.

How it works
Booking a dumpster in Brewster
Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.
Step 1: Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask the address and the town — in Barnstable, the village — what you are clearing, whether a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard or a job site, what is going in, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.
Step 2: We size it and quote it flat
We recommend the right size, so you do not pay for space you will not use or run out of room, and you get a clear, flat-rate price that covers delivery, pickup, the standard rental period and disposal within the included weight. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.
Step 3: Delivered where you want it
The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on a flat, solid surface rather than the lawn, with protective boards on request. Often same-day or next-day, when availability allows. You do not need to be home if the spot is marked and clear.
Step 4: Load it at your pace
Keep it level with or below the top edge and keep the problem items out — paint, solvents and automotive fluids, fuel and propane tanks, batteries and electronics, tires, medical waste, asbestos and hazardous chemicals, plus what Massachusetts bans from disposal, such as mattresses, appliances and recyclable cardboard. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.
Step 5: We pick it up and handle the disposal
Call or text when it is full or the job is done and we schedule a prompt pickup, often within 24 hours. The load is covered for the road and goes to licensed disposal and recycling facilities, with metal, concrete, clean wood, cardboard and yard waste recycled whenever possible.

Local answers
Dumpster rental in Brewster — common questions
Is Brewster same-day?
Same-day or next-day when availability allows — it is about 60 minutes from the yard. Call (508) 388-1861 earlier in the day for the best chance.
Can I take construction debris to the Brewster Recycling Center?
Only Brewster-generated waste, with lumber and pipe cut to 4 feet, and new-building or commercial demolition debris can't go in the Town's pay-as-you-throw bin (Regulation Secs. I, VI.K, VII.G). A roll-off takes the whole job.
Does Brewster require hauler permits?
Yes. Brewster's Board of Health requires a permit, renewed yearly, to run a commercial refuse collection company in the Town (Sec. VII.A).
Do I need Old King's Highway approval for a dumpster in Brewster?
We found no rule naming temporary containers. The committee reviews new construction and demolition north of Route 6.
