Local cleanups

We support neighborhood cleanup days, beach cleanups and volunteer efforts across Cape Cod. Keeping our towns and shorelines clean is a team effort, and we are glad to help residents and organizations haul away debris responsibly. When a neighborhood group, a church or a civic group runs a cleanup day or a property improvement project, the hard part is always the pile at the end — and a roll-off is often exactly what it needs. Tell us what you are clearing and we help you pick the size.

One honest tip: sort before you load. Massachusetts bans mattresses, textiles, large appliances, TVs, tires, car batteries, yard waste and recyclable paper, cardboard and containers from disposal (310 CMR 19.017), so a beach or neighborhood cleanup goes further with bottles and cans bagged for recycling and green waste in its own load. Keep paint, chemicals, propane tanks and batteries out of a cleanup container altogether. If your project is bigger than a few trailer loads, call us.

Working with local groups

Have a community project in mind? Call (508) 388-1861 or email info@capecoddumpsterrentals.com and let us know how we can help. A cleanup container that stays overnight needs the local fire department's permit like any other (527 CMR 1.00, Table 1.12.8.5), and a container on a town road needs the town's say-so where the town has a rule — in Bourne, Select Board approval (Traffic Rules § 4.5); in Mashpee, the DPW Director's written permission (Bylaw § 150-2); in Harwich, a written licence from the Director of Highways and Maintenance (§ 255-1). We tell you what applies before the day.

We also work alongside the contractors, landscapers and small businesses that keep the Cape running, and help keep neighborhoods clean during renovations, cleanups and seasonal projects.

Responsible disposal

Keeping the Cape clean also means sending what we haul to the right place. We divert reusable and recyclable materials whenever possible and dispose of waste properly at licensed facilities: metal, concrete, clean wood, cardboard and yard waste are separated for recycling whenever possible, and mixed construction loads go to a handling facility that meets MassDEP's minimum performance standard. Household chemicals, paint and fuel go to a household hazardous waste collection, never the container. Every load leaves covered (M.G.L. c.85 §36).
